My name is Lara Lee Bugeja and I am the General Music/Choral teacher here at Plumosa School of the Arts.  I have a B.A. in Music from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina and have been teaching at Plumosa since 2001.

About our House

Our House Colors: Coral, Teal and Gold
House Mascot: Lion

These traits are ones in which every member of the Haus of Sonus should possess and display at all times, On or Off Campus. These are the Traits we live by:

Our Vocal/Choral Performance Program

The K-2 Curriculum: The students will sing songs that are culturally diverse alone an with others with appropriate tone, pitch, and rhythm, with and without accompaniment.

  • The students will read and notate music.
  • The students improvise melodies, variations, and accompaniments.
  • The students compose and arrange music within specific guidelines.
  • The students will understand music in relation to culture and history.
  • The students will listen to, analyze, and describe music.
  • The students will evaluate music and music performances.
  • The students will understand the relationship between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.
  • The students will understand the relationship between music and the world beyond the school setting.

The 3rd – 5th Grade Curriculum (including all of the above):

  • The students will maintain their own part and using proper breathing techniques and a pleasing tone, with and without accompaniments.
  • The students will use appropriate expressive and stylistic devices including dynamics, tone quality, phrasing, articulation and interpretation.
  • The students will blend vocal timbres, match dynamic levels and respond to the cues of the conductor when singing as part of a group.
  • I will also be offering a K-2 Chorus that will meet after school on Tuesdays from 2:30 – 3:45 pm.  Permission slips/Parent consent and an audition are required.
  • I look forward to exploring the world of music with your children this year!!
